National Tournament Program

Fellow Community Members,

I am pleased to announce this year's hosts for A Game of Thrones National Championship Tournaments in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Our selections are as follows:

North American Championships

Northwest National Championships (Seattle, WA)
Location: First Pick Games
Tournament Organizer: Matt Ley
Dates: May 3-5
Additional Details: On Friday a Classic Draft/Classic Highlander will be held. The Joust tourney will be held on Saturday as well as after event TBD. The Melee will be held on Sunday.

Midsouth National Championships (Johnson City, TN)
Location: Hobby Town USA
Tournament Organizer: Jonathan Benton
Dates: April 5-6
Additional Details: Joust registration to begin at 11:00 AM with the tournament beginning at 12:00 PM on Saturday. After top 8 cut, there will be a draft. The Melee will be held on Sunday with registration beginning at 12:00 PM and the tournament starting at 1:00 PM.

East Central National Championships (Glen Burnie, MD)
Location: Games and Comics and Stuff
Tournament Organizer: Robert Reif
Dates: April 19-20
Additional Details: The Joust event will be on Saturday, with Registration starting at 11:00 AM and the tournament starting at 12:30 PM. Cut to top 8. During the championship round a draft side event is planned. The Melee event will occur on Sunday. Registration begins at 11:00 AM and the tournament starts at 12:30 PM.

Southwest National Championships (Norwalk, CA)
Location: Comic Cult II
Tournament Organizer: John Bruno
Dates: April 19-20
Additional Details: Friday evening will hold the Melee tournament with Drinks & Pizza for attendees. On Saturday at 11:00 AM the Joust tournament will be held with sub sandwiches, chips and beverages provided. After cut to top 8 a booster draft or classic highlander event will be held.

South Central National Championships (Springfield, MO)
Location: Metagames Unlimited
Tournament Organizer: Will Lentz
Dates: April 25-26
Additional Details: Melee will be held on Friday night. Joust will take place on Saturday at 12:00 PM with a draft event after cut to top 8.

Cape Cod National Championships (Abington, MA)
Location: Battleground Games and Hobbies
Tournament Organizer: Ethan Eisdorfer
Dates: May 3-4
Additional Details: The Joust will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday. Saturday evening post top 8, a Joust draft. The Melee will begin at 12:00 PM on Sunday with a Melee draft after the tourney.

Canadian National Championships (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
Location: Hairy Tarantula West (The Junction)
Tournament Organizer: Patrick Nardini
Dates: May 4
Additional Details: The Joust event will begin at 9:00 AM and end near 3:00 PM.
A short break for lunch then the Melee event from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

East Central National Championships (Woodbridge, VA)
Location: Game Parlor Woodbridge
Tournament Organizer: Casey Campbell
Dates: May 10-11
Additional Details: The Joust will be held on Saturday with registration starting at 10:00 AM and the tourney starting at 12:00 PM. Post top 8, draft/open gaming. Melee will be held on Sunday. 10:00 AM registration and tournament beginning at 12:00 PM.

Delaware Bay National Championships (Milford, DE)
Location: The Kid In Me

Additional Details: Fri: Classic Highlander Joust
Sat: Standard Constructed Melee
Sun: Standard Constructed Joust

Kublacon: Will "Quality Nomad" Albrecht Memorial
National Championships (Burlingame, CA)

Location: Kublacon Convention
Tournament Organizer: John Bruno and Damon Stone
Dates: May 24-26
Additional Details: Friday eventing at 6:00 PM a special rules tourney will be held. Rules are TBD/TBA. Saturday, beginning at 11:00 AM, the Melee will be held. Sunday at 11:00 AM the Joust will commence. Sunday evening at 6:00 PM there will be a booster draft or classic highlander event after the cut to top 8.

Midwest National Championships (Iowa City, IA)
Location: Critical Hit Games
Tournament Organizer: Jerod Leopold
Dates: May 24-25
Additional Details: Cost TBA
Sat: Standard Joust 1pm Trophy + Packs + FFG Support
Sat: "Faceless Men" 6pm Mask
Sun: Standard Melee 1pm Trophy + Packs + FFG Support
Sun: IT/5K Draft 6pm $50 Cash/Product

North Central National Championships (Cambridge, MN)
Location: The Gamer's Den
Tournament Organizer: Joe Becker
Dates: May 30-31
Additional Details: Friday Night 6pm: Chaos Draft ($20, 5 packs choice)
Saturday 9am Registration ($10), 10:30am Joust Swiss Starts, 3:30pm Joust Playoffs 6:30pm Melee Swiss Starts 10:00 Melee Final Round.


Overseas National Championships

Sweden National Championships (Malmö, Sweden)
Location: Spel på Djäknegatan

Additional Details: Friday, 18/4: 18:00 Registration Joust
18:30 - 21:30 Joust, rounds 1-3
Saturday, 19/4: 09:00 - 11:00 Joust, rounds 4-5
11:15 - 15:15 Joust Top 8
(for non-Top 8 players Blitzkrieg special rules Classic Highlander event)
15:30 - 20:30 Melee, rounds 1-3
Sunday, 20/4: 09:30 - 11:00 Melee final / Open gaming
(if the number of players is very small, the final will be played Saturday evening instead of Melee round 3)

German National Championships (Nürnberg,Germany)
Location: Prisma, Rothenburger Strasse 9, (am Plaerrer) in Nuernberg

Additional Details: 13:00 Start Time - Constructed

Australian National Championships (Canberra,Australia)
Location: Mind Games Canberra
Tournament Organizer: Nathan Brewer
Dates: May 24th
Additional Details: Main event starts at 10:30am, side events on an ad-hoc basis.

Austrian National Championships (Salzburg, Austria)

Additional Details: May 17th - 1:00pm: Constructed 5 rounds to Top 8 Final
May 17th - 8:00pm: Draft Tourney
May 18th - 10:00am: Multiplayer (3 rounds)
We are playing in the famous Gaming Farm House again. When weather is fair, we’ll have a grill party. Accommodation for free. Bring your sleeping bag.

Those locations that have been chosen are set as official venues for 2008 A Game of Thrones National Championship events.
